What is the difference between liquefied petroleum gas and natural gas?

Apr 12, 2022 Leave a message

The main differences are different in nature, composition and safety, as follows:

一、 Different nature

1. Liquefied petroleum gas

Liquefied petroleum gas is a colorless volatile liquid obtained by pressurizing and cooling liquefied natural gas or oil in the refinery.

2. Liquefied natural gas

Liquefied natural gas (LNG) is the liquid of natural gas after being compressed and cooled to its boiling point (- 161.5 ℃).

二、 Different ingredients

1. Liquefied petroleum gas

The main components are one or two of propane, propylene, butane and butene, and they are also doped with a small amount of pentane, pentene and a small amount of sulfide impurities.

2. Liquefied natural gas

The main component is methane, which is recognized as the cleanest fossil energy on earth.

三、 Different security

1. Liquefied petroleum gas

Liquefied petroleum gas is a toxic gas, but the volatilization of this toxicity has certain conditions. Only when the concentration of LPG in the air exceeds 10% can it emit toxicity that makes the human body react.

2. Liquefied natural gas

Colorless, tasteless, non-toxic and non corrosive.
