Smoldering type
Smoldering fires do not produce flame, they produce smoke particles with relatively large volume (3 to 5 microns), and smoldering fires produce smoke that flows and disperses slowly. Because these fires burn very slowly, and smoke diffuses very slowly, these smoke particles have enough time to stick to each other and combine, just as smoke particles grow. In this way, the smoke particles will become larger. The larger smoke particles diffuse light more strongly, so photoelectric detection technology can be used to detect this kind of fire.
Type of open fire
Flame (open fire) type of fire will have flame, and produce a large number of very small smoke particles (which may have negative ions). These particles are very small (0.5-3 microns), and they are invisible to the human eye. For example, the smoke produced by burning natural gas is this kind of smoke. It is effective to detect open fire (fast burning fire) by using ionic smoke alarm.
